“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” - Jeremiah 29:11

YES!

A simple, three-letter word that made such a huge impact on my life. When I finally said Yes to attending the Feast (after saying so many No’s), I only attended the online livestream. They did invite us to an online gathering after the Feast to connect and support each other through those difficult time. My mind must have been preoccupied during the livestream because I thought the online gathering was required.

That was my first yes through the Isla couple. That yes led to the start of my healing, discipleship, and service journey. That gathering became my safe space where I shared my personal reflection with strangers, who in turn touched me with their stories.

Soon after, face-to-face gatherings were allowed and I found myself attending live sessions of Feast Bay Area at first and eventually at Feast Novotel. Since then, I found myself saying Yes.

I said yes to Light Groups with Sis KC, my “Ate” and Career Partner. Yes to LST with my LG Head, Hannarae. Yes to LLR 14, Jesus Encounter, and Jesus Transfer. I even said yes to the 5am Bible Study habit led by the Lanon family and 9pm Rosary Habit through Bro Icko and Sis Shane. Yes to visiting Grace To Be Born and Anawim. Yes to consistent tithing and, most of all, YES to serving Father God by serving within the community.

Saying Yes is not easy. I experienced a lot of challenges that tested my faith. I remember experiencing a near-death car accident right after serving at LLR 15. The more we say yes to serving Him, the more our readiness will be tested.

During the Jesus Encounter Seminar, while everyone cried around me, I felt a sudden urge to cover my ears. My hands moved on their own and I just smiled and said, “Jesus, thank You.” I felt my heart open as if it was locked for so many years. I couldn’t explain the peaceful feeling I felt.

My facilitator, Sis Marj, said that I most likely received peace, my fruit from the Holy Spirit. At that moment, I felt healed from my past. It was not my turn to say “ YES, Lord, I surrender, and I will serve You with all my heart.”

Sis Nicole told me, “Your mess is your message. Your tests will become your testament. Your brokenness will become your ministry.”

This story, my story, is not about me. It never was. This journey is about Him and the people He used to reach out and guide me. It is about the people who said YES to serving Him. I wholeheartedly thank all these people. Because they said yes to service, I am here. Their Yes helped heal me and save my lost soul.

Before we attended the community, we felt alone and lost. Because we said yes, we no longer feel lost. Now, we feel saved. It is now my turn, our turn, to say yes to serving Him and be an instrument to lead a lost soul to Him and to His love.

My Yeses led me to where I am now, part of my LG, serving at Feast Valle Verde through the Call Pillar and Singles Ministry, at Feast Ortigas District as as online host and Dance Ministry servant.

I now share His love through introducing The Feast to my Family, my daughter, and my best friend, Reyn. They now serve with me at Feast Ortigas District.

Let’s not wait until we are ready to serve Him and embrace Him because we will never be fully ready. Even before we’re ready, let’s say Yes to our God. Everything else will come.

YES, Lord!
