Cut The Strings!

After the Feast, a woman asked me for prayer. She said, “For the past 4 years, I’ve been angry at my neighbor. I can’t seem to move on…” She explained why, and I won’t even tell you the story anymore. But I will tell you what I told her. I said, “Your anger makes you feel superior. You feel in control. That’s why you keep anger in your heart. But here’s the reality: As long as you keep your anger alive towards that neighbor, you’re a puppet of that neighbor. Through your anger, you’ve given that neighbor strings. She’s in control of your life.”

It was a hard pill to swallow, but she got it.

I urge you to cut the strings of your puppeteer. Let go of your anger. Give it to God now.

Have a liberating Feast today!

May your dreams come true, Bo Sanchez

Talk's Scripture Reference:

Matthew 5:1 NRSVCE

“went up the mountain”

Matthew 5:21-26 NLTCE

“You have heard that our ancestors were told, ‘You must not murder. If you commit murder, you are subject to judgment.’ 22 But I say, if you are even angry with someone, you are subject to judgment! If you call someone an idiot, you are in danger of being brought before the court. And if you curse someone, you are in danger of the fires of hell. 23 “So if you are presenting a sacrifice at the altar in the Temple and you suddenly remember that someone has something against you, 24 leave your sacrifice there at the altar. Go and be reconciled to that person. Then come and offer your sacrifice to God. 25 “When you are on the way to court with your adversary, settle your differences quickly. Otherwise, your accuser may hand you over to the judge, who will hand you over to an officer, and you will be thrown into prison. 26 And if that happens, you surely won’t be free again until you have paid the last penny.

Ephesians 4:26-27 NLTCE “In your anger do not sin. Do not let the sun go down while you are still angry

1 John 4:20 NLTCE If someone says, “I love God,” but hates a fellow believer, that person is a liar; for if we don’t love people we can see, how can we love God, whom we cannot see?

Personal Reflection and Group Discussion: If you have anger, find out if it’s a secondary emotion. Find out also if it comes from “being wronged” or from “things not going your way”. Bring your anger—and the underlying emotion (if any)—to the Lord.
